Lurelle Guild (1898-1985) was an industrial designer at the forefront of American Modern design during the Art Deco period and beyond. This iconic compote was designed by Guild and produced by the American Aluminum Company. It is composed of aluminum and glass and feels as modern today as when it was created almost eighty years ago. The compote, as well as other Guild designs, can be found in the permanent collection of The Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC. 13 3/4" diam. 5 1/2" h. American, c. 1934
