Edward Wormley for Dunbar; Pair of Riemerschmid Chairs

Wormley for the win.  Subtle sophistication, understated elegance.  The 'Riemerschmid' chair was originally designed by Richard Riemerschmid for the Dresden Exhibition of 1899, and adapted and detailed for Dunbar by Edward Wormley in 1947.  Riemerschmid approved of Wormley's modifications and complimented him on the "improvements to form and comfort."  This pair of Riemerschmid chairs by Wormley for Dunbar have mahogany frames which have been beautifully restored.  The black leather seats are original.  One chair retains the original metal Dunbar tag.  31" h., back, 19" h., seat, 23.5" w., 24" d.  American, c. 1947  SOLD  
Condition:  Frames newly restored, leather seats in very good vintage condition.
