Bloomingdale's Bergere Chair

An original ad for the Bloomingdale's 'Trianon' Collection reads...."Magnificent reproductions that have been so faithfully reproduced, the results are breathtaking.  Notice hand carved frames of imported woods in rich mellow tones.  Sumptuous fabrics straight from the days of ballroom galas; damasks, brocades, silks, velvets, even suede.  These luxurious coverings are filled to the bursting with down and feathers.  All spring systems have been done in an 8-way hand tied method.  We urge you to come and see this spectacular assortment of singular works of beauty."  I really need to work on my copy game!  This Bergere chair from the Trianon collection has a hand carved frame and retains it's original sumptuous, somewhat regal, purple cotton velvet upholstery.  The chair is stuffed with horse hair and the cushion with down.  It has its original Bloomingdale's label  37.5" h., 22.5" w., 19.5" d.  American, c. Condition:  Very good vintage condition with age appropriate wear.
