Now, that's Italian!  Magnificent, hand-carved and gilded mirror with an urn form crest with grape and foliate motifs. The grape and foliate motifs continue through the rest of the mirror frame along with acanthus leaf and grape vine decoration.  Each corner has Greek key decoration.  Italian, c. 1950's  SOLD

Easter Hours

We are breaking with tradition this year and heading south for Easter weekend.  While we won't be making our homemade bread or hand decorated eggs, we will be enjoying the holiday with Ukrainian friends, so there will likely be plenty of paska and other familiar fare.  The shop will be open and in the capable hands of Karen this weekend.  Hours are Friday from 12-4, Saturday from 10-5 and closed Sunday and Monday.  Wishing everyone a very Happy Easter and happy and safe trails to those who are travelling.

Stanley Furniture Server

Form and function, this handsome server on casters is very versatile and features a thick marble top, two drawers and two doors which open to a compartment with a stationary shelf.  The modern and stylish chrome pulls are backed with frosted glass.  The back of the piece is finished, so it could be floated in a room.  45" l., 18.5" w., 30" h.  American, c. 1960's  SOLD

Pair of Classical Urns

Handsome pair of painted cast iron urns with Putti and garland decoration.  The urns sit on scagliola bases.  They function nicely on their own or as planters, and would also make great lamp bases.  20.5" h., 10.5" diam.  c. 20th c.  SOLD

Olexander Wlasenko; Slow Dance

Bernardo Bertolucci was only 21 when he directed his debut 1962 film, "La commare secca".  These two moments appear near the climactic ending.  She dances with a man wearing a striped shirt.  Tears well up in her eyes.  Could this be their last dance?

Baker Furniture Bouillotte Table

This Louis XVI style bouillotte table was made by Baker Furniture for the Milling Road Collection and features a bookmatched burl walnut top with a pierced, patinated brass gallery.  The legs are fluted and have brass capped feet.  There is a single drawer.  When I was cleaning this piece, I found the original tag from Mayfair Interior Decorations was taped to the back of the drawer.  It describes the piece and lists the table at $180.00 (USD).  Purchased in 1962, that would equal appx. $1,450.00 today (using an inflation calculator).  26" h., 26" diam.  American, c. 1960's  SOLD

Regency Style Table

Love at first sight.  This handsome and elegant Regency style table has a bookmatched inlay top with string inlay decorated border and patinated bronze gallery.  The legs also have string inlay decoration, a bronze stretcher and casters.  It would make a perfect bar or server.  26" h., 28" l., 20" w.  American, early 20th c.  SOLD

Wolfgang Hoffmann for Howell Chrome, Lounge Chairs

We decided to go 'MODERN' last night with the new windows.  The pair of springer lounge chairs were designed by Wolfgang Hoffmann and produced by Howell Chrome.  They have chrome frames with a spring mechanism.  The spring mechanism along with the streamlined cushions and curved ebonized wood arm rests make these chairs extremely comfortable.  The cushions retain their original 'leatherette' upholstery which is in excellent vintage condition.  33" h., 23" w., 26" d.  American, c. 1930's  SOLD
