The Gunlocke Furniture Company was started in Wayland, N.Y. in 1902.  It originally specialized in high quality seating for homes, libraries and lounges.  They survived the depression in part due to President Franklin D. Roosevelt's endorsement by choosing Gunlocke Furniture for the White House.  Subsequent Presidents have chosen Gunlocke for custom pieces.  Notably, John F. Kennedy made some of the most significant decisions of the twentieth century, including Cuban Missile Crisis decisions, from his Gunlocke chair in the oval office.  They are still producing fine quality furniture today and are still producing it in New York State.

Great color and great craftsmanship.  These ultramarine blue chairs were made by the Gunlocke Furniture Company of New York.  They have oak frames and nail head decoration, and make great office or occasional chairs.  American, c. 1940's  SOLD

"Tomlinson Furniture Co." Chest of Drawers

Mirrored Tall Chest

This very chic tall chest was custom made and is of very high quality.  The frame is lacquered wood and the four drawer fronts, cabinet doors, sides and top are all mirrored.  The cabinet doors open to reveal glass shelves flanking a center compartment, and three additional small drawers with chrome knobs.  37" l., 21" w., 57" h.  American, c. 1970 SOLD

"John Van Koert for Drexel" Credenza

Designed by noted 20th c. designer John Van Koert (see earlier posts for more information on designer) this credenza was part of the Drexel Profile Collection.  It has four drawers and two cabinets for storage.  The design of the case as well as the hardware is very sculptural, and the piece has beautiful lines.  60" l., 21" w., 32" h.  American, c. 1950's SOLD
