Weekend Window Refresh

A quick window refresh last night to showcase two of our favorite newer Olis.  Normally we don't feature older pieces in the window, but the Verner Panton set just looks so good with the art.  As kismet would have it, as I was posting I noticed this new AD post of an incredible Panton chandelier that he designed in 1972 for his home that now resides in the restaurant of the Kunsthalle Basel Museum.

Pair of Ornate Torchieres

 Impressive and substantial pair of enamelled and gilded iron torchieres with acanthus and floral decoration.  The three candle lights operate independently on a four way switch.  The center light has a large socket which with an adapter can hold a standard bulb.  The diffusers are the same size but slightly different in style.  The floor lamps would look great with a variety of different sizes and styles of shades.  61.5" h., 18" diam.  American, c. 1920's  SOLD

Faux Bamboo Bech

Getting benched, nicely, for Super Bowl weekend, this smart Chinoiserie style bench has a yellow metal faux bamboo frame with a gold wash.  The seat is upholstered in an olive green velvet.  36" l., 15" d., 19" h.  American, c. 1960's  SOLD

Condition:  Base is in good vintage condition.  Upholstery is in fair vintage condition and would benefit from a refresh.  

LaBarge Chinoiserie Mirror

Milo Baughman Style Bench

Cool, clean Milo Baughman style upholstered bench with a polished chrome base and upholstered seat cushion in vibrant apple green linen blend fabric.  36" l., 16" d., 18" h.  American, c. 1970's  SOLD
Condition:  Base is in excellent vintage condition.  Upholstery is in good-fair vintage condition with slight color variations, but very usable.

Mastercraft Chest

Beautifully crafted by Mastercraft Furniture Co. of Grand Rapids, this handsome two drawer chest has burl inlay on the top, sides and drawer fronts.  It is finished on the back, so it can be floated in a room.  Its height makes it a great stand for a television, chest beside a bed, or on its own with a large mirror or piece of art above it.  34" w., 18" d., 23.25" h.  American, c. 1970  SOLD

Kindel Furniture Stands

Keeping it classic.  Finely crafted, elegant pair of French Regency style stands by Kindel Furniture.  The single drawer stands have brass knobs and decoration, and wire doors.  The stands come with the original pale blue fabric curtains that attach to the inside of the doors (not shown).  24" w., 18" d., 25" h.  American, c. 1960's  SOLD

Drexel Faux Bamboo Chair

Cheerful in chartreuse. Looking for a pleasant pop of color in a room?  The only thing that could make this faux bamboo, Hollywood Regency style chair by Drexel pop more pleasantly is a woman dressed in Lilly Pulitzer standing next to it!  The wood frame is lacquered in ivory with deep chartreuse accents.  The seat cushion is upholstered in its original chartreuse velvet.  36" h. back, 19" h. seat, 20" w.,  19" d.  American, c. 1974  SOLD

Georgian Writing/ Architect's Table

I continue to purchase beautiful antique pieces for my historic Hudson Valley house overlooking the river.  Then I return home and I am once again faced with the realization that I don't have said dream home.  One day the dream may become a reality, but for now, my loss is the shop's gain.  Today, the gain comes in the form of this wonderful Georgian writing/ architect's table.  This period mahogany table/ desk has an adjustable top with its original gold embossed, green leather writing surface.  There is a pull out writing surface on the side and a single drawer in the front with the original patinated brass pull.  The sides and front have contrasting inlaid banding.  While the desk is over 200 years old, it is timeless both in style and in function.  It is the perfect size for a lap top, and there is ample leg room.  31.5" h., 24" w., 18" d.  American, c. 1800  SOLD
Condition:  Very good vintage condition with minor veneer loss.
