Maurizio Tempestini for Salterini; Patio Set

Even if you're pretty green when it comes to design, and you don't know Jack Nicklaus about MCM, you'll have to agree this threesome is a hole in one.  This patio set was designed by Florentine designer Maurizio Tempestini (1908-1960) and produced by the John B. Salterini Company.  John B. Salterini emigrated from Italy to New York in the 1920's and began producing the finest and highest quality iron furniture from his Brooklyn studio in the 1930's.  Initially he was producing pieces mainly for the New York "establishment".  Eventually the company expanded production to meet the growing demand for their furniture, but still maintained the highest standards of quality and design.  The pair of chairs are from the "ribbon" series.  The rare two-tier table has a white glass inset on the lower tier and a clear piece on top.  Chairs, 32" h., 20" w., 22" d.  Table, 27" h., 35" w., 26" d.  American, c. 1950's SOLD

American of Martinsville Tall Chest

Bullseye Mirror

Baker Furniture Regency Style Sofa

Strikingly beautiful, Baker Regency style sofa in original upholstery with down filled cushions, tapered wood legs with brass capped feet, and original patinated brass medallions on the arm rests.  This is all original from the Fifties and an heirloom quality piece that will be worth reupholstering for generations to come.  For right now, the condition of the upholstered cushions is very good.  The upholstered frame is in good vintage condition with age appropriate wear mainly to the arm rests and piping on the back rest.  I doubt you will ever see another one.  88" l., 31" w., 30" h.  American, c. 1950's  SOLD

American of Martinsville Credenza

Another stunner from American of Martinsville.  Wonderful craftsmanship and design on this long, lean, assymetrical walnut credenza.  The door on the left opens to a compartment with three drawers.  To the right are six drawers, two of which have carved hour glass decoration which serve as the pulls.  The credenza comes with the two original walnut framed, tapered mirrors.  74" l., 18.5" w., 31.5" h.  American, c. 1960's SOLD
