Crafted by the renowned lighting makers, Cornelius and Company of Philadelphia, this girandole suite is comprised of a pair of Revolutionary soldiers and a Colonial lady. Girandole suites by Cornelius and Company, including this particular one, are found in the permanent collections of a number of museums in the United States including the Metropolitan in NYC, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Art Institute of Chicago, as well as the White House. The figures and candle holders in this set are gilt-bronze with marble bases and glass prisms. Each piece is signed and dated. 17 3/4" h. American, c. 1848
