Sunshine on a cloudy day. Starting the week off with this bright and beautiful pair of vases by Vista Allegre for Mottahedeh. Vista Allegre was founded in 1824 in Portugal and granted the title of Royal Factory five years after they opened. Mottahedeh began in the U.S. in the early 20th century as designers and importers of fine porcelain. They initially focused on museum quality reproductions of antique pieces. The company is still going strong today. This pair of large Empire style vases have a lovely lemon yellow high gloss glaze on their bodies with white glaze on their bases and tops.
