Heifetz Manufacturing Company of New York began in 1938 as primarily a lighting company, but they also produced decorative accessories, sculptures and some furniture. In 1950 Yasha Heifetz, in response to Marcel Breuer commenting that he could not find a well designed modern lamp, co-sponsored a national lamp design competition with the MoMA. The competitors included Richard Schultz from Knoll, Frank Greenhaus and Kevin Roche from Saarinen as well as Alexy Brodovitch, art director for Harper's Bazaar. There were fifteen winning designs of which Heifetz began producing ten.

The fabric shades are new and compliment the bases very nicely. 33" h. to top of finial, 17" diam. shade, American, c. 1950's $750.00 for the pair SALE $495.00 for the pair SOLD
