K.E.M. Weber (1889-1963) was born in Berlin but immigrated to the U.S. in the early teens. He moved to Hollywood in the early twenties and established his own design studio there. He went on to design a wide variety of products for many of the top makers of the period, and was at the forefront of creating what came to be known as the Streamline Moderne style. His iconic designs, including the "Zephyr" desk clock, "Airline" chair and "Springer" chair can be found in museums throughout North America as well as internationally. There was a great article on his life and work in a 2015 issue of 'Elle Decor' (below). This tubular chrome arm chair was designed by Weber for Lloyd Chrome. It is all original including the dark green Naugahyde with white piping. The chair retains the original Lloyd label. 35" h., 26" w., 33" d. American, c. 1930's SOLD
