The zebra symbolizes freedom, balance and individuality....also some traits of great decorating. This very decorative zebra painting is from the Lee Reynolds studio. Reynolds was born Lee Reynolds Burr in Los Angeles in 1936. He graduated from the University of Southern California in 1962 with a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts and by 1965 had started his Vanguard Studios in Beverly Hills. The studio's mission was to produce decorative works of art in the form of avant-garde sculptures and paintings. Vanguard employed a variety of artists to meet this goal, but all pieces are signed with the 'Lee Reynolds' signature. Works from the prolific studio have become quite collectible in the last few years. This framed oil on canvas is 50" w. and 40" h. American, c. 1970's
