Edward Wormley for Dunbar; Pair of Stands



These are the coordinating stands to the pair of chests by Edward Wormley for Dunbar listed yesterday.  They're a nice compact size but offer lots of style and a nice amount of storage.  The single drawer stands have the same simple yet sophisticated details as the chests; leather wrapped plinth bases, gently rounded tops and side panels and inset drawer pulls.  16" w., 13" d., 25" h.  American, c. 1950's  SOLD

Russell Woodard Sculptura Dining Set



This iconic "Sculptura" five-piece dining set by Russell Woodard has a lot going for it.  To start, it's great looking and works well indoors or out.  The sculptural chairs do double duty as dining or occasional chairs, and the woven wire makes them light and easy to move.  They are very comfortable.  The octagonal table seats up to eight and the chalk white finish and simple, modern design allows the set to mix well with other chair styles.  The wire mesh on the table and chairs is in perfect condition.  Chairs, 32" h., 26" w., 23" d.  Table, 28.5" h., 48" w., 48" d.  American, c. 1960's  SOLD

Edward Wormley for Dunbar; Pair of Chests

Invest in the best.  These outstanding, matching, five-drawer chests in lustrous bleached mahogany were designed by Edward Wormley for Dunbar.  It's all about the subtle yet sophisticated details with these two.  The chests have leather wrapped plinth bases and gently rounded tops and side panels.  The drawers have inset pulls and the top drawer of each chest has two dividers.  Both chests have their original paper labels.  34" w., 20" d., 31" h.  American, c. 1950's  SOLD

Gordon Furniture Company; Pair of Side Tables


It's all about the mix with this very handsome pair of side tables by Gordon Furniture Company.  Two tiers of burl with inset beveled glass and cane are joined by polished brass, faux bamboo rods.  Decorative brass balls and wooden ball feet complete the mix.  26" d., 22" w., 20" h.  American, c. 1960's  SOLD

Pair of Design Institute of America Tub Chairs





Super seventies chic and super comfortable pair of Design Institute of America (Baughman?) tub chairs on casters.  They are zipped in with their original leatherette upholstery.  It's hard to believe it's not leather.  It's the best faux we've felt and it looks very genuine in texture and finish.  The chairs are appealing from every angle and their casters make them perfect for parties and conversation.  31" h., 31" w., 24" d.  American, c. 1970's  SOLD

West Michigan Furniture Company; Baughman/ Campaign Style Desk



A winning campaign by West Michigan Furniture Company.  This Baughman/ Campaign style modern beauty features bookmatched olive burl veneers and two flush mount drawers.  The brass X-base has a soft warm patina, but could be polished to a brighter shine.  It is finished on all sides so it can float in a room.  54" w., 24" d., 28.5" h.  American, c. 1970's  SOLD

Revere Magazine Holder



I've seen equal design attributions to Norman Bel Geddes and Fred O. Farr for this  chrome magazine holder made by Revere.  Either way, it's a great quintiscentally Streamline Moderne design with flexible scrolls that move to hold multiple magazines on each side of the center bar.  17" h., 10" w., 8" d.  American, c. 1940's  SOLD

Curtis Jere; 'Martinis and Manhattans'


Keeping the holiday 'spirits' alive.  Do you stir or shake?  According to Patrick Dennis and Auntie Mame, "Stir never shake.  It bruises the gin."  Whatever your pleasure, this large and well-crafted postmodern 'Martinis and Manhattans' wall sculpture by Curtis Jere would be an intoxicating addition to your collection of decorative art.  The three Martini glasses, three Manhattan glasses and shaker are made of mixed metals with various finishes.  The olives are enameled metal.  31" h., 29" w., 5" d.  American, c. 3rd quarter 20th c.  SOLD

MCM Bench

American of Martinsville Cabinet


Known for their innovative modern designs and interesting combinations of materials, American of Martinsville pieces have become increasingly collected over the last decade.  This two-piece, blond mahogany cabinet by American of Martinsville has a base with two doors and pulls with caned inserts.  The doors open to a compartment with one stationary shelf.  The top has sliding glass doors that open to a compartment with three stationary shelves.  39" l., 15" w., 63" h.  American, c. 1950's.  SOLD

Pair of Cube Chairs

MCM Executive Desk/ Table


This large, modern and sophisticated walnut desk/ table has a minimalist form with maximum function.  It has a simple thick plank top supported by parallel rectangular plank/ slab legs with contrasting banding on the bases.  It functions nicely as a desk, dining or work table.  While unsigned, it is very high quality.  The underside is stamped with a maker's '19' and dated Aug. 1950.  66" w., 36" d., 29.5" h.  American, c. 1950  SOLD
