Etienne Kohlmann for D.A.D.O.; Art Deco Table

Invest in the best.  This very rare Art Deco table was designed by French architect and designer Etienne Kohlmann (1903-1988) for D.A.D.O. in 1928.  The curvilinear, asymmetrical, lacquered table represents Art Deco design at its height and at its best.  There's no doubt to attribution on this one.  It retains its original signed brass tag, and we were able to pull up an exhibition image from 1928 featuring the table.  Kohlmann pieces are rare to find, but there are a few examples on 1st dibs.  https://www.1stdibs.com/furniture/tables/side-tables/etienne-kohlmann-modernist-side-table/id-f_6960673/
28" h., 22.25" w., 18" d.  French, c. 1928  SOLD

Neoclassical Style Arm Chair

"Until very recently people were literally scared out of their wits by color.  Perhaps this was a hangover from our Puritan ancestors.  But whatever the reason, brown, grays and neutrals were the only shades considered 'safe'.  Now we know that lovely, clear colors have a vital effect on our mental happiness."  - Dorothy Draper; 'Decorating is Fun' 1939.  This lovely Neoclassical style arm chair is sure to have a positive effect on your mental happiness!  The carved wood frame has an antiqued ivory finish with green painted accents and a caned back.  The feather filled seat cushion is upholstered in a charmingly cheerful pink gingham fabric.  There is no makers label, but the quality is top notch.  34" h., 24" w., 24" d.  American, c. late 20th c.  SOLD

Gunnar and Lotte Bostlund Lamp

Perfect lighting.  Did you ever see 'Interiors' the 1978 film by Woody Allen?  If you didn't, it's definitely worth a watch for a number of reasons.  If you did, you might agree that this subtle and sophisticated lamp would have worked very well on set, and Eve (Geraldine Page) would have approved for sure.  It reminded me of the film as soon as I saw it.  The tones and proportions on this matte glaze ceramic table lamp by Gunnar and Lotte Bostlund are just about perfect.  The fiberglass shade is original.  24" h., 12" diam.  c. 1960's  SOLD
