Mt. Airy Furniture Casalinda Collection Cabinet

The Mount Airy Furniture Company is not as well known as some other North Carolina makers, but they produced many lines of very beautiful furniture over their history, particularly during the 1960's.  We've featured a number of pieces by Mt. Airy and this is definitely a favorite.  It is from their 'Casalinda Collection' (Beautiful House), and is a two-piece cabinet in bleached walnut.  The top piece has two doors, with carved fronts and patinated brass pulls and decoration, which open to a compartment with two stationary shelves.  To the right, two glass paned doors flank a glass paned panel.  The doors open to a compartment with two stationary shelves.  The top piece looks great centered or asymmetrically placed.  The bottom part of the cabinet has a bi-fold door that opens to a compartment with one stationary shelf.  There are four ample drawers, and to the right is a single door which opens to a tall compartment.  This is a real statement piece that would work beautifully with a wide variety of styles.  It also has a ton of storage!  76" h., 72" l., 19" d.  American, c. 1960's  SOLD
Condition:  Very good vintage condition with age appropriate wear.

Pair of Staffordshire Greek Revival Vases

Pictures don't really do this stunning pair of Staffordshire Greek Revival vases justice.  The quality and condition are excellent and the colors are rich and vibrant.  They have Neoclassical scenes on the front and back and have gold paint decorated handles, rims and bases.  Similar styles, in what seems to be a very rare color, have been attributed to F & R Pratt as well as Samuel Alcock.  The other examples I've found have only been 'signed' with a pattern number and other factory marks similar to this pair.

Both factories operated out of Staffordshire and produced similar Greek Revival pieces of the highest quality.
It's pretty remarkable how well these have survived the test of time, both from a condition as well as a design perspective, considering they are around 170 years old.  13" h., 6.5" diam.  British, c. 1850  SOLD
Condition:  Excellent-very good vintage condition with age appropriate wear.

Neoclassical Screen

The big screen!  It's big (8 feet high).  It's beautiful.  It's dramatic.  It's neoclassical.  This three-panel screen has 6 antiqued mirror panes and 6 panes with giltwood rope and ebonized ball decoration.  We couldn't find a designer or maker.  It feels a little like a Donghia piece.  The only other example we could find is on 1stdibs and that one has a fruitwood frame.  https://www.1stdibs.com/furniture/more-furniture-collectibles/home-accents/screens-room-dividers/three-panel-neoclassical-style-mirrored-screen/id-f_12622272/ The quality and construction are top-notch.  The design possibilities are limitless.  8' h., Each panel is 2' wide and 1.5" d.  American, c. 20th c.  SOLD
Condition:  Very good vintage condition with age appropriate wear.
