"Kem Weber", "Springer" Lounge Chairs
Kem Weber (1889-1963) was born in Berlin but immigrated to the U.S. in the early teens. He moved to Hollywood in the early twenties and established his own design studio there. He went on to design a wide variety of products for many of the top makers of the period, and was at the forefront of creating what came to be known as the Streamline Moderne style. His iconic designs, including the "Zephyr" desk clock, "Airline" chair and "Springer" chair can be found in museums throughout North America as well as internationally. These iconic "Springer" chairs were designed by Kem Weber for Lloyd Chrome. They retain their original lime green and forest green naugahyde upholstery. They are in excellent original condition and are super comfortable as they have a little "spring" to them. If purchased as a pair, the cushions could mix and match, but if puchased separately, they will be sold with either both lime or both forest cushions. American, c.1930's SOLD
Pair of Bronze Girandoles
The figures, Paul and Virginia, depicted on each of the candlestick holders are from a popular eighteenth century love story by French author Jacques-Henri Bernardin de Saint-Pierre. Each bronze candlestick is mounted on a marble and bronze base and decorated with original cut-crystal prisms. They are fairly shallow so would lend themselves perfectly to a mantle. 16" h., 6" l., 4 1/4" w. American, c. 1840 SOLD
