Lee Reynolds; "Lighthouse"

Reynolds was born Lee Reynolds Burr in Los Angeles in 1936. He Graduated from the University of Southern California in 1962 with a bachelor's in Fine Arts and by 1965 had started his Vanguard Studios in Beverly Hills. The purpose of Vanguard Studios was to produce Avant-Garde sculptures and paintings for decorative art purposes. Vanguard employed a variety of artists to meet this goal and all pieces are signed with the Lee Reynolds signature; even those produced after he stepped down as creative director in 1979.  As of 2008 the artist was still working, though only on a private commission basis.  Works from the prolific studio have become very collectible in the last few years.

This piece is a very vibrant, very large, decorative oil on canvas.  The painting is a lively, impressionistic, seascape with a very active sea and sky, and a nicely painted lighthouse in the foreground.  60" l., 48" w.  American, c. 1960's. SOLD
