The Red Lion Furniture Company was founded in 1907 in Red Lion, PA and produced pieces of exceptional quality and design. During the period this desk was made, Red Lion was in collaboration with designers such as Charles Eames and Eero Saarinen as well as other leading designers of the period. Pieces produced by Red Lion were amongst the first pieces to be exhibited through The MoMA's Department of Industrial Design. The Department was established in 1940. This desk is another example of the great designs produced by Red Lion.
