Paul McCobb (1917-1969) was an American furniture designer and interior decorator credited with introducing Americans to modular furniture. He studied fine art in Boston and later moved to N.Y.C., where by 1945 he had established his own design company, Paul McCobb Design Associates. By 1950, he had become a household name and earned himself the nickname of "America's Decorator". His work was exhibited at a variety of museums including the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art in New York. He was a five time recipient of the MoMA's Good Design Award between 1950 and 1955.
