Baltimore Chair

Baltimore was an early and important center for the production of American "fancy-chairs".  The chairs were based on a Roman klismos form with turned rather than saber front legs.  This very fine example of a Baltimore chair retains it's original sage green paint and gold and black stenciled decoration.   Back is 34" h., seat is 17 1/2" h.,  18" w.  American, c. 1830  SOLD
