Jean Cocteau (1889-1963) was a poet, artist, writer and film maker. In addition to his writings, including "Les Enfants Terribles" and his films including "Beauty and the Beast" and "Orpheus", he is known for his associations with many of Europe's top artists, writers, actors and musicians. His circle included Pablo Picasso, Coco Chanel, Marlene Dietrich and Edith Piaf. This lively original lithograph depicts the French poet Arthur Rimbaud and Faun, the forest god. It is a stone lithograph, and was signed and dated in the stone and printed at the Atelier Mourlot. It is matted with a complimentary pale blue velvet mat and framed in a carved silver leaf frame.
