Exceptional quality and design on this pair of cabinets designed by Bert England for the "Forward Trend" Collection by Johnson Furniture Company. I have never seen anything quite like this pair of cabinets....and exactly right for today. One opens to reveal a pull out writing desk with light, a smaller pull out writing surface, a divided file section, drawers, and a filing cabinet. The other opens to reveal 6 drawers and an open section on the bottom. When open, doors sit flush against cabinet sides. In one of the original ads from 1959 for the Bert England "Forward Trend" Collection, the collection is described as "original designs of unusual distinction to please more perceptive clients". Each cabinet is 40" l., 19" w., 49 1/2"h. American, c.1961
